Arla Foods Global Innovation Centre & The Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017

Tuesday, May 16th

Crown Princess Mary attended the launch of Arla Foods Global Innovation Centre, a new multifunctional innovation center for Arla's product development. The opening took place in Aarhus. Later in the afternoon, the Crown Princess received The Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017 on occasion of the Womenomics Business Conference taking place in Copenhagen.

Time is running and I am sorry you had to wait this long for me to finish this post. But better late than never, so... Crown princess Mary was the guest of honor at the grand opening of the new Arla Foods Global Innovation Centre in Aarhus. These new facilities are a multifunctional centre for Arla's product development. And who else to invite for the opening than the Crown Princess herself? She arrived in rainy weather on Tuesday to attend the launch. Despite the weather, Mary was in a great spirit at the opening. She was kindly welcomed and given flowers from a very shy little flower-girl. But as always, Mary took plenty of time getting the little girl comfortable with the situation. The red carpet was replaced with a green and the red ribbon replaced with a leaf vine. A little unusual. The Crown Princess was also given a tour around the building to see for herself some of the improvement Arla are working on.

The Crown Princess was a busy lady on Tuesday. In the morning she attended the grand launch of the new Arla Foods Global Innovation Centre in Aarhus. In the afternoon Mary was back in Copenhagen to attend the presentation of The Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017 -she attended both as guest of honor and recipient of the award! The Crown Princess is given the award because of her work to improve health conditions, rights and well-being for girls and women in Denmark as well as abroad. Other than the Crown Princess; Pia Vennelund received the Womenomics Leadership Award 2017 and Ida Auken was given the Womenomics Influencer Award 2017. Congratulations to all three women! They are all doing a great and honorable work for women all over the world. On occasion of her attendance Mary gave a remarkable speech. I am in no doubt that is was a wonderful day for the Crown Princess.

At both events during Tuesday, Mary was dressed in a simple black and white outfit. Other than once piece of clothes, I believe all of it are reused. Though we have seen most of these pieces before, it looks brand new because of the combination. Attending the opening of a new centre and receiving an award, takes an outfit like this one -classy, elegant and sophisticated. She matched a pleated Designers Remix skirt with a (new?) white blouse and her black Helmut Lang blazer featuring a leather collar. It was during a trip to New York back in 2016 Mary wore the midi skirt for the first time and we have not seen it since -till now, here. Love how the lengths of each piece makes her outfit look very modern and chic. I am not quite sure if the white blouse is new or also reused. In my opinion it looks new and the style reminds me a lot of a Hugo Boss design. All though I have not been able to find the right model. Do you have any specific designer in mind? She had accessorized her outfit with white pearls from Dulong Fine Jewelry and one of her Carlend Copenhagen clutches. Perfectly matching the black and white pleated skirt, Mary was wearing cap-toe pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Anything you would wear? Think she looks great!
