Summer Holiday at Gråsten Castle

Once again the entire Danish royal family are gathered at Queen Ingrid's beloved Gråsten castle to the press for a summer photo which this year took place in the There this time took place in the castle park.

One of the family gatherings I look most forward to! It has been a tradition since the time when Ingrid was Queen and our present Queen was just a Princess running around in the park along with her younger sisters. No secret that Margrethe loves the place as much as her mother and father did. Love when a tradition like this is kept alive and I'm sure Frederik will continue the tradition when it one day become his property (along with Mary of course). A wonderful time when the whole family is gathered, all relaxed. Kids are running around having fun and their parents have time to enjoy each others company. The weather was absolutely great! Just a perfect day. Everybody seemed comfortable and were all big smiles. Almost makes me think how much Princess Athena, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine has grown since last year and of course Athena's big brother Prince Henrik. Lovely to get to see them grow up. Really believe the Queen and her husband enjoyed the day along with their family.

My biggest hope was to see something new and we did! Although I am very surprised of her choice. It is so warm in Denmark right now and Mary chose a maxi dress with long sleeves? I know, I know it's made of a thind fabric but still. Actually it's funny because during the winter Mary is always having bare legs and no coat and during summer time she is wearing long dresses. Doen't really makes sense. Almost instantly the new dress was identified as a Ganni dress by Pernille and Lurdes! Great job you two. Her sunglasses is differently not new and I have struggled for so many years to find out where they are from. Then suddenly a reader write to me, sharing the information that they are from a designer called Oliver Peoples. Never heard of him before, but now I will keep it in mind the next time we have a pair of unidentified sunglasses. Around her neck she wore two gold necklaces; one from Ole Lynggaard – with a yellow pendant and one from Orit Elhanati. She embrace the style with, what I think, is a new ring featuring a turquoise stone in the middle just like the one Princess Marie was wearing! You hardly see them, but underneath that long maxi dress Mary wore a pair of brown leather sandals from Prada. Unfortunately they are no longer available and I have a hard time finding them again to show you. But I have stock photos of them on my computer to you who would like to see them. Though I find it way too hot, I really like her casual outfit -a lot!

Just to inform you, then I'm going on vacation the next two weeks along with my family and I want to wish you a great time with your family while I'm away. In the meantime you are always welcome to share your findings by sending me an email. Take care!

Following the annual photo session in the garden of Gråsten they all changed clothes and attended a reading of Prince Henrik's poems taking place in the castle chapel.

Mary changed clothes from a blue printed maxi dress to a love new white knee-length summer dress, which I probably would have chosen to wear at the photo session. It is a little more appropriate for the season. Pretty sure the dress is new, unfortunately I have not been able to identify it yet, but maybe with your help we will find out where it is from. As always your help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. She was still wearing that twisted golden Orit Elhanati necklace and the turquoise ring on her finger. For sure you noticed the Louise Grønlykke earrings found by Pernille at a previous event. Really lovely how she accessorized this outfit. Stylish, elegant yet casual at the same time. Don't you think so? Think I also see her golden Shamballa Jewels bracelet. There has been much talking about where her shoes are from. At first I thought they were from Christian Louboutin, but shortly after they were told to be from Ralph Lauren. So what I did was simply to search and look what I found! -Beige excotic leather heels from Ralph Lauren (Spring/Summer 2011). Dazzling pair of sandals I can't wait to see again, hopefuly very soon! If you like this outfit as much as I do, then find your best white dress and paired it with your favourite heeled sandals!

Roskilde Festival 2014

Wednesday, July 2nd

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended this years Roskilde Festival, all unofficially.

There is a first time for everything also for the Crown Princess of Denmark. While her husband, Frederik, has attended Roskilde Festival several times before this is the first time he is accompanied by Mary. Oh.. I simply adore when we get to see the royal couple like this. Though they are followed by the journalists and photographers they still have time on their own. Truly believe they had a great day together! One of the big names playing at the festival is The Rolling Stones and with Frederik as a fan of rock music, they of course came to watch their concert which began at 10 pm. local time. The royal couple five hours before and had plenty of time to enjoy each other during the evening. Pretty sure it was a great concert from what I read.

What to wear at a festival in the evening and the weather only promise you it'll be a late summer night? Well, Mary has the answer (as usual). Something practical and nice at the same time, of course. When her and Frederik arrived she was wearing a striped blue/white blouse featuring long sleeves and navy blue west from Moncler. Also that new electric blue down jacket is from Moncler found by Kate. The blouse I do not know anything about, but really all designers have a striped blouse similar to this one. She'd paired the cosy outdoor wear with slim dark jeans. On her feet she wore a pair of light blue sneakers from New Balance perfectly matching the rest. And of course, not to forget, a pair of sunglasses. Later she had a quick change from a striped blouse to a new t-shirt designed by Bjørn Ivar Liland from Olso on occasion of the festival. His design was voted as the most popular one. He won the competition among the designers who helped to design this year's t-shirt. It is also available in men's sizes.

... and by the way check out my latest post at Royalista!

Wimbledon Championship in London

Thursday, June 26th

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the Wimbledon Championship at the All England Lawn Club in London. The match were between Lukas Rosol (the Czech Republic) and Rafael Nadel (Spain).

From first raw in the Royal Box at Center Court, the Danish Crown Prince couple watched the Wimbledon championship tennis match between Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic and Rafael Nadel from Spain only one day after they attended a gala performance in the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. One day Denmark, next day London. It came as a surprise to me when I found out that Frederik and Mary should attend the tennis match, but it's really amazing they "just show up" though it may have been planned in advance. Both seemed in a great mood both at the arrival, during the game and when they left. Think they really enjoyed some time together and though the press watched each and every of their steps, they also had some loving moments on their own.

At the London tennis game Mary wearing a brand new printed summer dress featuring the most lovely pattern! Not quite sure if I like the colours but it looks splendid with her dark brown hair. Really lovely. Arime is the one who told me where this new dress is from and I thank her very much. It's a designer we have never seen Mary wear before, at least not what I am aware of, called Massimo Dutti. Spend a little time looking through their website and I truly hope this will not be the last time we see her wear their clothes. Take a look if you do not already know their styles. She had accessorized the outfit with two golden necklaces from Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and Orit Elhanati both seen before, earrings from Louise Grønlykke (which took quite some time to identify!) and then two bracelets from Marianne Dulong and Shamballa Jewels. But this is not all because she also wore two diamond rings, both Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen creations. Looking absolutely magnificent Mary was also wearing a pair of Dolce & Gabbana and her lovely brown leather bag from Ralph Lauren. Can't get enough of this bag! Simple outfit, plenty of accessories.
