Crown Princess Mary attended, as patron of the UNFPA - United Nations Population Fund, the launch of the Fund's State of World Population report and was presence at the opening of the photo exhibition Too Young to Wed at University of Copenhagen.

Whats is the UNFPA?
UNFPA stands for United Nations Population Fund and is the lead UN agency for a world where every pregnancy is wanted and every birth is safe for mother and child. They also work to fulfill every young person's potential. Impressively the death of women dying from complications of a pregnancy or childbirth has been halved since they started working in 1969. The Too Young to Wed photo exhibition has arrived to Denmark, travelled all the way to be exhibited at the University of Copenhagen. During the day Mary attended the launch of this years UN's State of World Population report, UNFPA's flagship publication. Which was hosted by the University of Copenhagen, UNFPA Nordic Office and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ralf Hemmingsen, the Rector of the University of Copenhagen, expressed in his opening address how global issues as development, health, social progress and child marriage have become a part of the research and educational agenda at the University. To mention; the photo exhibition has also been, in a abridged version, in Morocco to focus on child marriage is a main topic to discussion. This exhibition will begin in the beginning of November as well. If you wonder, as I did, what the Too Young to Wed photo exhibit is actually about, it shows poignant photos of the third world. Global issues affecting among others girls and women, child marriage and how to give young girls a better way to handle a early pregnancy. Pernille Fenger, Chief of UNFPA Nordic Office -one of this events hosts, highlighted that 5,000 under the age of 14 give birth every day in developing countries. It's choking. Because we live in a society where kids are not allowed to be a kids for very long, I think these children are entitled to have a safe and happy childhood, where they are allowed to play and develop. These girls don't even get the chance. Pernille Fenger also expressed her concern that around 40,000 girls at the age or younger than 17 are getting married every day. To hear this before you really take the time to watch the exhibition must get your mind going. I think it's remarkable who these girls even live like this. I don't think it is possible for us to tell how difficult it must be. If you just have to see all this for yourself, you find the exhibition till December 14th 2013. Afterwards it is relocated in the UN City.

Not overdressed wearing nothing new, Mary attended the exhibition such as the launch of the State of World Population 2013. In the beginning of this year, she visited the University of Southern Denmark in Odense as patron of the Australian and Danish twin registry. In addition her and Frederik visited the Australian register on their official visit about a week ago. Here they met several twins registered in the registry. Sure you remember the sweet pictures of the couple spending some time with the children. Not much have changed since then. I like that she wears her clothes over and over again even is she wears it in the exact same way as previously. Of course it confuses me when to find out when and where she wore it earlier. Mary chose calm colours consisting of black trousers and a short jacket I assume is from Prada. With her natural hair and makeup she did caught too much attention at the opening. Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen designed the beautiful earrings shaped as leaves featuring drop pendants. Such as the earrings we know all about the Bottega Veneta hobo bag. Right away I noticed her shoes featuring a buckle on the toe, I got help to ID. them by an wonderful woman who told me she was the lucky owner of these Max Mara shoes (approx. Fall/Winter 2012).
